1- Job Position: Dean – Graduate School – Worldwide Reach in Applied Community Development

2- Job Position: Communications Associate

Future Generations University is excited to announce the opening of a new opportunity to join their team. The University is seeking a highly motivated Communications Associate to support a multi-platform communications strategy to lift up the stories, actions, and social transformations of the Future Generations University,

Future Generations University is a small school, where everyone, regardless of seniority is expected to bring a positive mindset to teamwork, be self-driven, have effective time management, and believe that positive social change is possible. Team members are expected to think creatively, participate in University-wide strategic planning, and bring dedicated drive and passion to their work.

The Communications Associate needs to be comfortable working in a multi-cultural perspectives and approaches. They must have a very strong command of written and verbal English. This job will require a very flexible work schedule that may at times require attending meetings outside of normal business hours to accommodate international time zones.

This position is full-time. This position is partially remote with a requirement to be at Future Generations University’s office in Franklin WV at least six days per month. This residency requirement will be adjusted, as needed in accordance with University COVID-related policies. Permanent remote placement may be considered for exceptional candidates.

Interested candidates will be expected to perform the following functions:

  • Maintain/Assist with the organization’s blog, including coaching staff and partners on generating content as well as writing and editing blog post content.
  • Create organization emails including regular organization e-newsletter sent on a monthly basis plus special announcement emails as needed.
  • Generate strategies, creating content and maintaining general upkeep of organization social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
  • Generate communications tools to supplement campaigns, including event registration through Facebook events, Google Forms and Survey Monkey surveys, Zoom meetings and webinars, and other tools as needed.
  • Maintain organization communications calendar, including generating content ideas, setting deadlines and coordinating with staff members to ensure deadlines are met
  • Maintain organization website in coordination with the Global Network and Development teams.
  • Produce written stories, photographs, and videos demonstrating best practices and models of community development within the Global Network.
  • Serve as a member of the University’s broader communications team and support other projects or programs on an as needed basis.

Preferred Experience & Skills:

  • Experience with creating and maintaining organization or business communications such as social media, website, and marketing emails in a professional setting
  • Knowledge of Canva, Mailchimp, WordPress, Eventbrite, Survey Monkey, and Google Drive a plus
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite a plus
  • Experience with photography and videography captured in a professional setting
  • Strong copywriting and editing skills
  • Monitor current trends, suggesting ways of leveraging them by developing/promoting new content
  • Advise on best strategy for digital marketing; develop, execute, and track paid social media campaigns across all channels
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to complete tasks and follow-through on
  • Must be energetic, positive, imaginative, well-organized, and capable of functioning effectively in an independent environment and on a small team.

4- Job Position: Global Network Coordinator

Future Generations University is excited to announce the opening of a new opportunity to join their team. The University is seeking a highly motivated Coordinator to support global impact. The Coordinator will provide administrative and technical support to the Future Generations Global Network and University’s Sustainable Development Learning Chapters. Future Generations University is a small school, where everyone, regardless of seniority is expected to bring a positive mindset to teamwork, be self-driven, have effective time management, and believe that positive social change is possible. Team members are expected to think creatively, participate in University-wide strategic planning, and bring dedicated drive and passion to their work.

The Global Network Coordinator needs to have significant experience working in multi-cultural perspectives and approaches. They must have a very strong command of written and verbal English as well as a willingness to mentor others. Formal training or direct experience working in international aid and/or community development organizations is also desired. This job will require a very flexible work schedule that may at times require attending meetings outside of normal business hours to accommodate international time zones. It will also require a willingness to engage in extended international travel—post COVID.

This position is full-time. This position is partially remote with a requirement to be at Future Generations University’s office in Franklin WV at least six days per month. This residency requirement will be adjusted, as needed in accordance with University COVID-related policies. Permanent remote placement may be considered for exceptional candidates.

Interested candidates will be expected to perform the following functions:

  • Serve as the Administrative Assistant to the Global Network
  • Serve as secretary to the Global Network board
    • Coordinate regular meetings
    • Responsible for keeping formal calendar, meeting agenda/background documents
    • Provide administrative support for the Global Network records, bylaws, and Global Network staff & Maintain records in coordination with the University archivist
  • Support Country Partners & University Communications
    • Coordinate & Organize regular meetings with Country Partners
    • Support the University’s quarterly reporting system & country programs through impact reporting, and, program development;
    • Organizing and maintaining regular communications plan with country offices
    • Assist local strategy development through research and technical reporting.
  • Support Community Engagement division with communications, reporting, and fundraising.
  • Performance monitoring and impact evaluation for international sub-contracts.
  • Support communications team through activity reporting.
  • Assist with fundraising and grant reporting – including generating written content for administrative and grant reports.
  • Assist other divisions on an as needed basis.

Preferred Experience & Skills:

  • Creating and maintaining organization or business reporting systems
  • Federal grant writing and 501c3 reporting requirements
  • Working in international/community development or emergency aid assistance
  • Creation, management, and maintenance of budgets and complex spreadsheets
  • Strong copywriting and editing skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to complete tasks and follow-through on
  • Ability to coordinate and motivate others to ensure meeting deadlines
  • Knowledge of Google Drive, Zoom, Microsoft Office, Adobe, and Project Management platforms.
