ACC 604 – Sustainable Communities

This course explores what can be gleaned from existing successful examples of community- level action on topics such as conservation, ecotourism, food and water security, and agroforestry. The course begins with an acknowledgement of a number of global issues including climate change, population increase, and land degradation. Learners are mentored through a semester-long implementation of elements of a sustainable community approach, or similar.
You will learn to:
- Examine household-levels of vulnerability and yse that evidence to lead community action towards sustainability
- Analyze how best to protect and maximize resources in the your natural environment.
- Apply community-centered approaches to natural resource management and climate change within your community
