The communities where we live and work are complex. Spatial thinking allows us to see patterns and relationships, and organize ideas. Mapping skills can help document and disseminate powerful stories for change, and are transferable to many aspects of community development. Spatial data is increasingly available and accessible. When we use data, we have a responsibility to understand the complexities of data collection and use. This course will introduce you to spatial data from a wide variety of data sources, and will include discussions of data ethics, cultural considerations, and data quality.
