History

Future Generations University was founded in answer to one of humanity’s toughest challenges: how to train leaders who drive community-driven change that is both sustainable and scalable. Established in 2003, the University has over 150 graduates, with students and alumni working in 154 countries around the world.

The University’s headquarters on North Mountain defies isolation with an international staff and student body. Its stunning views overlooking the Potomac River headwaters and Germany Valley abound in temperate forests, among the most diverse in the world. Far from metropolitan areas, the campus is nonetheless a center of global education – defining location by learning rather than geography.
