Firew Kefyalew has hands-on experience in programming of various projects/programs working in Ethiopia, Rwanda, Kenya, and South Sudan. Over the past twenty-seven years, he has worked as Ethiopia Country Director for the International Institute of Rural Reconstruction, Child Protection Project Officer for UNICEF-South Sudan, Program Development Officer for Save the Children Sweden (Southern Sudan Program), Country Director for Cork, Irerland's University College Ethiopia and Rwanda Field Offices, and Guidance and Counseling Officer for the Ministry of Education in Ethiopia. Since January 2015, he has worked as Assistant Academic Director, East Africa, for Future Generations Graduate School, where he also holds a faculty position as an Assistant Professor of Participatory Action Research and Project Management. He also serves IIRR-Africa Region as Coordinator of Write shop and Applied Learning
