Katie received her Master of Development Practice degree in 2018. While completing this degree, Katie lived and worked in Can Tho, Vietnam as a volunteer helping to build the Bending Bamboo English curriculum. In her undergraduate career, she studied sustainability in Costa Rica, interned for an NGO providing education for vulnerable Cambodian youth, worked for the Study Abroad and Academic Internship offices, and doubled majored in Business and Politics at Regis University. Taken together, Katie’s undergraduate and graduate experiences instilled in her a knowledge of and deep gratitude for applied learning, cultural immersion, and intercultural and interdisciplinary work.
She now applies this knowledge and gratitude as a Program Associate at Future Generations University. In this role she will assist in building and implementing the Bending Bamboo English curriculum, which seeks to foster bilingualism that supports the sustainable and resilient development of communities. Katie is a native of Littleton, Colorado where you can find her playing sports (mainly lacrosse), camping, and/or hiking on any given day
